On May 22nd in Manchester England many young music fans were killed. The concert was held by Ariana Grande.  Just after the last song was performed, explosions were heard. 19 people were killed and 59 people were injured, the incident was an act of terrorism.

The attack was the deadliest in Britain since 2005. Eyewitness accounts of the incident report that, “A huge bomb-like bang went off that hugely panicked everyone and we were all trying to flee the arena,”(Source: Washington Post). The suspect was identified as Salman Abedi, who was born in Manchester, and ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Among the dead were children under the age of 16 and as old as 26. Currently there are three known victims they are Georgina Bethany Callander 18, Saffie-Rose Roussos, 8, and John Atkinson, 26 (Source: US Weekly). Grande immediately after the incident tweeted out to fans her deepest regrets for what happened and how sorry she was about what happened. The event that was supposed to be joyful and enjoyable.

Unfortunately, in this day and age the world has become so unsafe and unpredictable. Places such as concerts  which are for entertainment and enjoyment end up being the last time someone is on this earth or a place where the young are terrorized. Terrorism is a huge issue that is constantly affecting the lives of many and is becoming too common in society. Hopefully very soon, the world will become a lot safer and the worry about making it home safely, will not be a thought on everyone’s mind.
