Poetry- Respect

Stephanie Lahens, Poet

Detail the entails of self-respect.

Oppress another to elevate yourself?

Let’s dive into the depth.

Here’s a girl on top of the food chain,

But in order to climb

She left behind a pile of dead

Ocean? Rags? No way…

How impactive would that play?

Similar to most, she sold her soul.

Acting like there’s no better way.

The air maybe judgmental,

But there’s sickness from the typical.

Detail the entails of self-respect.

Integrit ; holding tight to dignity,

Though temptation calls

And life is rough

Purity is still in intact.

Not only speaking to you…

Sometimes my world is blue.
