The Taste of Fall

For the nights that are better to be spent at home with a fresh cooked meal, there are quick and tasty dishes that can be prepared for multiple families. Soup sounds just about right for a family or friendly dinner. There are several different recipes for soups, however, Pumpkin Chipotle Soup is a popular new twist. Pumpkin Chipotle Soup is an incredible dish for the fall season. This is a wonderful, quick soup that works as a main dish with a compliment of cornbread or freshly chopped cilantro.  Check out for cook times:


  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1-2 chipotle peppers (canned in adobo, 1 for mild, 2 for spicy), chopped
  • 8 cups chopped, cooked pumpkin* (1 7-8 pound cooking pumpkin to yield 8 cups cooked pumpkin, or 3 15-ounce cans of canned pureed pumpkin)
  • 4 to 6 cups chicken stock, depending on desired thickness and how thick your pumpkin purée is (use vegetable stock for vegetarian option, can sub water for some of the stock)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or 1/2 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 2 teaspoons salt, more to taste
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice


  • Toasted, shelled pumpkin seeds
  • Cilantro
  • Creme fresca, creme fraiche or sour cream thinned with a little water so that it’s runny

Faro attracts their costumers with freshly baked breads, incredible burgers, and seasoned pastas. The reviews are great and the menu is based on good prices and amazing dishes.

It might be impossible to forget about the delicious desserts, such as pumpkin pies and apple crust.  Dessert is rarely turned down after a great dinner.  Another popular dish for dessert is a Sweet Potato Pound cake. This cake can be made with several different twists, however a sweet and buttery glaze is a perfect touch if desired.
