The Boys Table Tennis team has a lot to be proud of this season.  They completed the regular season with a 12-2 record, securing FDR’s first Division Championship.  The Cougars went on to defeat Cardozo and Brooklyn Tech in the PSAL playoffs securing the #3 rank in New York City.  This year, FDR’s Singles were led by Jie Lian, Henry Huang, and Xin Hang Xie.  The Doubles were the anchor of the team, led by First Doubles, Hong Hui Lei and Wen Lian Wu, and Second Doubles, Xuan Wei Zhen and Wen Xi Zhang.  Not only did the Cougars have one of the top starting line-ups in the city, the teams exhibition crew was solid from top to bottom.  Eric Liang, Xiang Ling Wu, Hao Lin Chen and David Zhao all played a critical role throughout the season.

On February 7th, FDR’s players competed in the city wide Individuals and Doubles Tournament at Brooklyn Tech.  All three of our Singles place in the top 12 in NYC, with Henry Huang making it all the way to the elite eight.  FDR’s Doubles ended up ranked number 4 and 5 in the city, with Hong Hui Lei and Wen Lian We playing Stuyvesant in the Championship’s Consolation Game.

Coach Sullivan is extremely proud of all of this year’s accomplishments.  FDR is now firmly in the discussion as one of New York City’s top programs.  With a strong off-season and summer, the Cougars look to  deliver FDR’s first Table Tennis City Championship next year.  Way to go Cougars!!!
