This month, F.D.R. High School welcomes Mr. Chall as the new AP of the Instructional Support Services Department. In his interview, Mr. Chall shared that so far, his experience working at F.D.R. has been nothing short of spectacular.

He believes one challenge he will be facing as an AP will be multitasking, as there are so many components to the Instructional Support Services Department. However, he feels certain that the amazing staff members will readily help him.

Mr. Chall stated that perhaps the most important part of any department, especially the ISS Department, is to prepare the students for college and future careers. It is his goal to prepare the students of F.D.R. with the needed skills to succeed. Every student is different, and he believes that everybody has to work together in order to help the students achieve their own personal goals.

He also shared that this spring, two new work-study programs will be implemented. One will be a mobile food cart that will provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks to staff members on Fridays. The second will be working for the Brooklyn Cyclones at Coney Island. New classes may also be added in the fall of 2015.

One quote Mr. Chall finds inspirational is, “The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet,” by Aristotle.

Welcome to the Cougar Family!!  We are lucky to have your dedication to our students.
