Poet of the Month- Shamim Rahman

Shamim Rahman
Acrostic poem
Children were forced to work each day
How can I support my family with such little pay?
I try to work hard, but I’m becoming very weak
Lowering my hours of work is all I seek
Dying slowly while I work in the same spot
Locked in a room which is dry and burning hot
All most dying trying to fix the machine
Broken and missing limbs is all I have left
Ongoing and strong I’m just trying to look past it
Reaching for a glimpse of hope, but I can’t seem to grasp it
