Enjoy Winter Skating And Sledding In NYC!

Enjoy+Winter+Skating+And+Sledding+In+NYC%21

The temperature is dropping and transition from light sweaters to coats is happening soon. This is the perfect time to enjoy all the new seasonal activities for this winter!

Ice skating is one of those classic winter activities that you can never go wrong with on a chilly morning, day, or night. You can go ice skating any time of day, as long as the rink is open! In New York City, there are numerous ice skating rinks that open. The Rink at Rockefeller Center is located in Manhattan and is quite large in size. They’re open from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. all week. The ticket pricing ranges from 21-73 dollars and depends on the time you are going. Another ice rink located in Manhattan is the one located in Bryant Park. The pricing ranges from 25-30 dollars, and is a more affordable option for Manhattan. The Prospect Park Ice Rink is a great place to go ice skating in Brooklyn. LeFrak Center at Lakeside is what the location is called. Weekday admissions are 9.25, weekend admissions are 13.50, and ice skate rentals are 9.50. This is an affordable place to go ice skating and the park can be enjoyed after your session.

After a nice snowy day it is a great time to go sledding on the fresh snow. All sledding requires is a sled, and a steep slope. You can go to parks, or even designated hills where sledding oftenly takes place. Some parks great for sledding are Central Park in Manhattan and Sunset park in Brooklyn as they have steep surfaces that are great to go sledding on. You can also go to hills exclusively for sledding. Pilgrim hill, Cedar hill and Sled hill are the few hills in NYC where you can go. Make sure you’re bundled up!

The festive spirit shines through and seasonal activities open up during this time of year. The Bryant Park winter village opens, and it consists of markets and food shops that are all themed around the holidays. Desserts, food and hot chocolate are sold along with other unique food items to add to the pantry. The seats are nice to sit down and enjoy hot chocolate and enjoy the Park. The Union Square holiday market also opens up similarly to the one in Bryant park. The variety is more diverse, as there are clothes sellers and jewelry sold along with the food sellers- and it is a nice place to go to and look around what new things you may find.
