As the year 2023 comes to an end, many amazing artists have made great songs this year! Every artist is unique and creative; do you think your favorite artist made it to the Top 10 Artists of 2023?!

  1. 21 Savage 

Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph was born on October 22, 1992, in London, United Kingdom, making him 31 years old today. Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph’s stage name is 21 Savage. He got this stage name during an attempted robbery on his 21st birthday, where he was shot six times but survived, though his friend Johnny, who was with him, died. Some of 21 Savage’s greatest songs are, “Bank Account,” released in 2017, and, “No Heart,” released in 2016. 21 Savage has won many awards, including a Billboard Music Award for top rap song and a Grammy Award for record of the year.

  1. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande-Butera was born on June 26, 1993, in Boca Raton, Florida. Ariana Grande is 30 years old today and has 10 dogs! Some of Ariana’s greatest songs are, “7 Rings,” released in 2019, and, “Thank U, Next,” released in 2019 as well. Ariana has been known for her role in the Nickelodeon series “Victorious.” Throughout her career, she has won many awards, including two Grammy Awards and two Billboard Music Awards. 

  1. Karol G 

Carolina Giraldo Navarro was born on February 14, 1991, in Medellin, Columbia, making her 32 years old today. Carolina used to go by “Carol G,” because her friends used to call her that as a nickname, but she decided to change it up a bit to “Karol G,” making it her stage name. Karol G is a reggaeton songwriter and singer; she has won two Grammy awards and four Billboard awards. Karol G’s greatest songs are, “QLONA,” and, “TQG,” both released in 2023.

  1. Peso Pluma 

Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija was born on June 15, 1999, in Zapopan, Mexico, making him 24 years old today. Hassan’s stage name is Peso Pluma, given by a former boxer named Marco Antonio Barrera since Hassan asked him to help him pick a stage name. Peso Pluma is a fan of Drake and hopes to one day work with him. His greatest songs are, “Ella Baila Sola,” and, “La Bebe,” both released in 2023. Peso Pluma has won many Billboard Latin Music Awards, such as Songwriter of the Year and Regional Mexican Artist of the Year. 

  1. Shakira 

Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll was born on February 2, 1977, in Baranquilla, Columbia, making her 46 years old today. Shakira is her stage name. Since she was 10 years old, she has been writing songs, which is incredible. Shakira has had many accomplishments; she has won many Latin Grammy Awards; her first Grammy was all the way back in the 2000. Shakira’s greatest songs are, “Hips Don’t Lie,” released in 2005, and, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” released in 2010.

Destiny Hope Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee, making her 31 years old today. Destiny changed her name back in 2008 to “Miley Ray Cyrus,'” and her stage name is Miley Cyrus. Miley Cyrus is pansexual and came out to her mother when she was 14. Miley has won Teen Choice Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and a lot more. Miley’s greatest songs are, “Flowers,” released in 2023, and, “Party in the U.S.A.”, released in 2009. 

  1. SZA 

Solana Imani Rowe was born on November 8, 1989, in St.Louis, Missouri, making her 34 years old today. Solana formed her stage name “SZA” from the supreme alphabet; her last two letters of her name stand for Zig-Zag and Allah, and her first letter stands for savior. SZA’s best songs are, “Kill Bill,” released in 2022, and, “Good Days,” released in 2020. SZA collaborated with Doja Cat on the song, “Kiss Me More.” She has won Grammy Awards, BET Awards, and much more. 

  1. The Weeknd 

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye was born in February 1990, in Scarborough, Toronto, Canada, making him 33 years old. Abel got his stage name, “The Weeknd,” when he dropped out of school one week at the age of 17, took his mattress, and never came home. The Weeknd has won multiple Billboard Awards, Grammys, and more. The Weeknd used the stage name “The Weeknd” instead of “The Weekend” because there was already a band that used that name. The Weeknd’s greatest songs are, “Blinding Lights,” released in 2019 and, “Can’t Feel My Face,” released in 2015.

  1. Drake

Aubrey Drake Graham was born on October 24, 1986, in Toronto, Canada, making him 37 years old. Aubrey Drake Graham goes by the middle name that his father gave him, “Drake.” This is his stage name as well. Drake did not start off his career as a rapper, but as an actor, his role was Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Drake has won many awards, including Grammys, American Music Awards, and more. Drake’s greatest songs are, “God’s Plan,” released in 2018, and, “Hotline Bling,” released in 2016. 

  1. Taylor Swift 

Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in West Reading, Pennsylvania, making her 33 years old. Taylor Alison Swift goes by “Taylor Swift” as her stage name and was named after James Taylor. Taylor has won various awards, including Grammys, Artist of the Year, and more. Taylor’s greatest songs are, “Blank Space” and, “Bad Blood,” both released in 2014.
