Music Review- Toby Keith’s Hope on the Rocks

Music Review- Toby Keith’s Hope on the Rocks

pg 4, pic 2 (225x300)There are no great tours coming to NYC this summer.  So, like it or not, we are going country! Toby Keith Covel, known Toby Keith, is an American country music singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor. Toby Keith Covel was born on July 8, 1961 in Clinton, Oklahoma. Raised in Oklahoma City, Keith started playing music at a young age after being inspired by the musicians who worked in his grandmother’s supper club. After working for a while in the oil industry, and playing defense in the USFL football league, he decided to pursue a career in music. Keith released his first four studio albums—1993’s Toby Keith, 1994’s Boomtown, 1996’s Blue Moon and 1997’s Dream Walking’, plus a Greatest Hits package for various divisions of Mercury Records before leaving Mercury in 1998. Toby spent several years in the South writing music as well as showing up in some movies. Toby Keith came out with his new album Hope on the Rocks to Oct. 30 of last year.  It hit the top of the charts for three straight weeks! Some of his songs were known as “ear-worms” for sticking in your head for a long time. The collection included his new single, “I Like Girls That Drink Beer.” In addition, a deluxe edition of Hope on the Rocks will include remixes of “Red Solo Cup” and “Beers Ago,” as well as live versions of “Whiskey Girl” and “Get Out of My Car.” He is coming to PNC Bank Arts Center Holmdel, NJ Friday 6/21/2013 7:00 PM to wow both NY and NJ.  Give his music a chance, you won’t be sorry!
