The FDR Girls’ Table Tennis is back and ready to make a splash this 2025-2026 season! With a mostly new lineup with only two returning captains, Samira and Mehribon, the team is showing incredible passion and consistency from the very start. Despite being a young team these athletes are already making waves with their energy, focus, and love for the sport.
Table Tennis is often underrated but it demands incredible skills from lighting fast reflexes and hand eye coordination to strategic footwork and a variety of serves. The FDR girls are embracing these challenges with dedication for aiming not only to complete but to dominate.
This season the Cougars have one clear goal to fight for the PSAL championship. Beyond wins, the team is focused on building strong bonds, developing their skills together and creating a foundation for future seasons. Captain Samira and Mehribon lead by example, inspiring their teammates to push harder, stay positive and never lose sight of the bigger picture with is teamwork and growth.
Coach Stanco shared, “Even though table tennis is largely an individual sport, this team has shown remarkable determination and support for one another. Every player is ready to learn, improve, and give their best. Their energy and commitment make me confident that we can have a very successful season.” He also highlighted that staying consistent and focusing on each point, regardless of wins or loses is key to long term success.
The team’s first game is scheduled against Murrow High School on December 2, and the excitement is building. While most players are new their enthusiasm, focus, and willingness to help each other improve make them a formidable force on the court. Their teamwork, determination and passion will surely carry them through the season. Our current lineup is Mehribon A. (1st Singles), Jenny Z. (2nd Singles), Samira A. (3rd Singles), Yimin C. and Yu Fang Z. (1st Doubles) and Aiza K. and Jade R. (2nd Doubles)
With their eyes set on the PSAL championship and a bright future ahead, FDR’s Girls Table Tennis team is ready to inspire school spirit and show what a committed team can achieve and make the 2025-2026 season one to remember!
