Congratulations to Ulugbek Islomjonov, our Male Athlete of the Month from the Boys Track Team. The team calls him “O,” but his name is Ulugbek. He is currently the longest standing member on the Boys Track team and this year’s Captain. Since his freshman year, O has been competitive; he is always striving to be better. According to Coach Simone,  “The best part about his athletic transformation is that he has maintained good grades the entire time. He takes his academics seriously, as well as his physical activity, and for that he has my utmost respect.”

Ulugbek doesn’t just like attending FDR, he loves FDR. As an athlete, he considers pain and working hard an important part of working toward his goals. He believes the process of improving yourself never ends. Ulugbek is also on the Wrestling and Soccer teams. He believes that the mental side of sports in critical to succeed. He points out that most of his loses in Wrestling came from thinking too much about his opponent. He loves all the sports he plays at FDR, and he is proud to represent his school.

Ulugbek’s advise for young athletes is to set goals and realize you must work hard to achieve them.  He believes he was chosen to be the athlete of the month, because he has shown dedication to his school and teams!
