Poem “Untitled”

Poem Untitled

Untitled
by Ashley Rosario
I’m not trying to love you
I’m trying not to care
I’m trying not to live my life wishing you were there
I’m trying not to wonder
Where you are
Or what you’re doing
I’m sorry, I can’t help myself,
I fell in love with you.
But how can I just forget
When you gave me so much to remember?
When you are now forever in my heart?
I gave you my heart,
All of it,
I was scared too because I knew you could break it.
I was hoping you wouldn’t.
I don’t regret falling in love with you,
I just regret waiting so long to tell you.
It took two years to know you
It took two months to fall in love with you
And now it’s taking a lot to just fall out of love with you
Because I refuse to.
