Summer is just around the corner. You’ve finished ten months of school, whether you were the one learning or teaching, and you’ve finally earned yourself that summer vacation. What should one use this time for? Gaming of course! What games you ask? Well this time, I have console exclusives to show you.

Splatoon 2 – Switch

Splatoon 2 is one of the most anticipated games for the Switch this summer! Splatoon 2 is a turf war style game where teams compete to claim the most of the available land. They do this by using paintball guns and other weapons like paint grenades. The player can also turn themselves into a squid and sink into the paint to travel faster, climb walls, or simply just to have the element of surprise. The game was also known for having DLC courses and other extra stuff for free. Fans are hoping for the same features to be added to this game as well! What Nintendo has confirmed is that you will be able to play with your friends online both inside your house and on the go if you have a Wi-Fi source at your location. With games on the Switch, many games can run at high speeds, without you needing the “perfect” internet connection, so you don’t need to worry about Splatoon 2 freezing up on you every two seconds!

Splatoon 2 will be released July 21st this summer!

Detroit: Become Human – PlayStation 4

Detroit: Become Human is a “choose your own ending” kind of game, where you decide how it ends. In the game, you play as an android who is sent on a mission to save a little girl who was taken away by another android gone evil. Your job is to bring back the girl alive. On your way to rescue the girl you can check your surroundings to gather information on murders, collect items, and possibly find out the motive of this other android. Using the information and items you’ve gathered you can save the girl and your life. Failing to do so can result in you and/or the girl dying. This brings a unique way of playing to the game since now the player will have to carefully evaluate each obstacle they come across in order to get the best ending. The best ending will require the player to make all the choices throughout the game correct such as refusing to do or pick up certain things. Will you make the right choices? Will you obtain the best ending?

The game is expected to come out sometime this year. Follow the game for a release date!

Crackdown 3 – Xbox One/Microsoft Windows

Not many games come out exclusively for the Xbox One, but when they do you can expect something unique and most likely involving mass weaponry, like this game! Crackdown 3 is similar to the game Detroit: Become Human in the sense that you are an agent in a futuristic sandbox high-tech world. However, you are not an android. You’re an agent with multiple weapons and a transforming car inside a city that you can destroy since the mechanics of the game allows you to break up buildings into small pieces, a feature that other games have been unable to do since it requires an extremely powerful processor. Also, if you want to look at another difference, this isn’t a “scavenger hunting” game like Become Human. In this game, you pretty much just drive around and eliminate the enemy, then move on. If you’re into games such as GTA (Except you’re the good guy this time… if you chose to do your job properly) and love the idea of exploring a sandbox city in a high-tech car, then this is the game for you!

This game is expected to come out sometime this year, so be on the lookout!

Whether you play Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, or even PC, you are still a gamer. Explore the worlds out there whether you’re playing for the high score or just for the journey that comes along with it. No need to fight about which console is better, unless you’re comparing exclusive games in which case go nuts! Enjoy these games and more to come!
