Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The Winter Solider is an example of the very best of what comic book movies have to offer. Captain America: The Winter Soldier serves as a strong follow-up to the first outing, Captain America: The First Avenger. The movie is a tremendous piece of pop entertainment, as it features a home run movie star performance by Chris Evans. It shows how a new threat against S.H.I.E.L.D. arises called the “The Winter Soldier.”  Now racing against time with very little resources available at his disposal, Captain America launches an investigation into S.H.I.E.L.D.’s army base where he once underwent basic training nearly 100 years ago. This film became the seventh-highest grossing film of 2014 worldwide. As a critic stated this movie is, “suspenseful and politically astute, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a superior entry in the Avengers canon and is sure to thrill Marvel die-hards.”  If you’re looking for an action film to watch, this one is surely for you!!

Deadpool

Everyone loves a good action movie about superheroes with a healthy dose of comedy.  If you’re looking for a movie that fulfills these criteria, then the perfect movie for you is Deadpool. Directed by Tim Miller, the movie stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Ed Skrein as Francis Freeman/Ajax,  and T.J Miller as Weasel. The movie is about Wade Wilson, a former special forces operative who works as a mercenary now. His life takes a turn when the scientist Ajax makes him into Deadpool, which leaves him disfigured but with superpowers. Later, he goes on a journey to find the scientist who left him disfigured with the help of other mutant X­-men trainees. Some accolades received for the movie were the MTV Movie Awards for Best Comedic Performance (Ryan Reynolds) and for Best Fight (Ryan  Reynolds and Ed Skrein). The movie also had many positive reviews from critics. One critic said, “A superhero with a perverse sense of humor is out for revenge. You’ll laugh,  you’ll cry, you’ll bathe in blood.” Another critic said, “Deadpool is going to endear a  whole new audience to the vivid and weird character, while once again demonstrating  the tremendous opportunity for variety in the comic book movie genre.” Overall,  Deadpool is an action packed movie that’s perfect for a great laugh.
