New Food for the New Year

New Food for the New Year

A New Year means a chance to try new foods. Be sure check out these cool places over the upcoming school breaks or on weekends.

Happy Bones

A cozy, warm café located on Broome Street has all the drinks one could ask for during the winter time. They are known for their espresso drinks (Cortado, Americano, Piccolo). A highly recommended drink is their hot chocolate. It’s not too sweet or bitter with a finished milk foam on top. This small café also sells delicious pastries that include almond/chocolate croissants, cookies, etc.

The Chocolate Room

Located near the Atlantic Mall, it’s a great get together place for dessert. From sundaes to milkshakes to root beer floats, The Chocolate Room has them all. They have handmade ice cream as well as superb coffee. The staff is welcoming and friendly and has become known to be one of the best dessert places in NYC.

SEA Thai Restaurant

Authentic Thai food is now the new craze and SEA Thai Restaurant takes it to another level.  It’s restaurant meets a dreamy temple. Upon walking through the entrance, a Buddha holding a lotus flower is sitting in a body of water. This restaurant gives off relaxing, peaceful vibes. If you’ve never tried Thai food yet, you can’t go wrong with their Pad Thai, or Drunkman’s Noodles.

August

For those of us who aren’t spending Valentine’s Day alone, August may just be the perfect go-to restaurant. Whether you’re in a new relationship or planning last minute plans, this restaurant creates an effortless picture. This is an affordable Mediterranean place that sells small plated meals, so feel free to share the tarte flambée, and lemon gnocchi. For V-Day, there will even be lamb chops for two, so make sure to call for a reservation soon.
